The first project of the Graphic Design III class tasked the class with creating a social justice poster. Upon days of research, I decided to focus on a significant issue in my home country, Brazil, given its long history of mistreating indigenous people. The absurdly high rise of invasions, and consequently violent attacks and deaths, increased since Bolsonaro became president in 2018. I read about the culture of multiple tribes and decided my concept would be based on the indigenous Guarani’s belief they are the extension of the earth. Because they are interconnected, killing and/or harming, one reflects on the other.
The illustration of the indigenous man was made on Procreate and then transferred to Adobe Illustrator for further design.
